I was so excited and honoured to be invited this week as a guest designer for CASEing the Catty Blog Hop!!!!! Each week the CASEing the Catty team bring us amazing inspiration from the catalogue. This week’s theme is Artistic Expression.
This week two of my work colleagues lost their father’s so unfortunately a couple of sympathy cards were called for.
To me, the Sheltering Tree stamp set is perfect for sympathy cards. So I set about creating this card….
I used Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride as the main cardstock and ink colours. I added a touch of Pear Pizzaz for the grass. The sentiment ‘thinking of you’ is perfect for a sympathy card.
Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to the tree to add some sparkle.
I hope that my work colleagues like these cards as much as I enjoyed creating them.
Thanks for having me along this week as a guest designer. Now it is time for you to head off to the next blog – Enjoy!!!!!
When I craft I am ‘blessed’ with two little helpers. They enjoy walking over what I am doing and tapping my piercing tool around my desk. The craft room would not be the same without them!!!!
So when I saw the ‘Pretty Kitty’ set I just had to have it. I created a set of 5 cards, each one using a different cat image.
I used Pink Pirouette and Basic Grey card stock. These colour feature in the splatters in the background. I coloured the images using the markers. I stayed with the pink and grey theme but varied the shades of pink markers I used.
I finshied the card with the Smoky Slate Stitched Ribbon. This card could be made in any colour combination. It is such a fun, simple card but I really love the effect.
Well the ‘helpers’ and I are off to create some more cards!!!! Crafting is hard work!!!
Enjoy the next blog!!!
When I was a little girl I just LOVED fairies!!! My bedroom was decorated in a fairy theme and I had fairy birthday parties.
So when I saw the Fairy Celebration Stamp Set I knew I just had to have it (Annual Catalogue page 63).
I took my inspiration from this image……
And created this…….
I used Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral cardstock. The fairy is coloured using the Stampin’ Write Markers with a touch of Wink of Stella added to the wings and flowers. The new Stitched Satin Pool Party Ribbon also features on the card.
I am really pleased with how this card and it was such a lovely reminder of my childhood.
When I first got my hands on the Annual Catalogue at Onstage I madly wrote my long wish list. And to be honest Swirly Birds was not on my list. I know crazy right? I have since grown to love this stamp and thinlit bundle.
So I created this card for the Global Design Project’s Colour Challenge – Sweet Sugarplum, Night of Navy and Whisper White.
I splattered Gorgeous Grunge in the background using Night of Navy and Sweet Sugarplum, stamped off. I then added the large scribbles and flowers from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies.
Rhinestones and Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon added some contrast. And of course a touch of Wink of Stella on the flowers added that subtle sparkle.
This is such a versatile set and I hope you enjoy creating with it as much as I do!!!
CASE – There are many meanings for this term. Copy And Share Everything. Copy And Selectively Edit.
I chose to Copy And Selectively Edit or CASE a Christmas Card from the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue. I also wanted to CASE a card for CASEing the Catty’s challenge and entry to join the team!!!!! Just a bit excited about that!
The new Dapper Denim cardstock and the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set feature in this card. I added a touch of Soft Sky to add some contrast.
There is a hint of Soft Sky stamped in the background using Gorgeous Grunge’s little spots.
One of the snowflakes is punched twice, folded in half and then partly glued together to create a three dimensional look. A scatter of a few rhinestones add some sparkle.
When I was four year old I went to England, with my family, for Christmas. I remember only a couple of things – Santa bringing me a dolls pram and the snow.
So instead of doing housework today I decided to create this Christmas card to send to my Grandma who still lives in England.
I used the ‘White Christmas’ stamp set and stamped the trees on crumb cake. I added a touch of real red and some glitter!!!
It was quick and easy and I am sure that my Grandma will love it.
I had a lot of fun making this birthday card for my father-in-law. It is also one of the first masculine birthday cards I have made!.
I used Night of Navy and Crumb Cake cardstock to make this card. I love how the colours work together. I also used one of my favourite stamp sets ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ to make the splotches in the background.
Stamp a Happy Birthday onto a banner. Add some linen thread. Pop it up on dimensionals and it is done!
This card took me no time to put together. Quick, simple and effective!
